This study enabled the development of the Regional Development Plan for the Social Economy (PDRES) of the Guelmim–Es-Smara region. The plan now serves as a strategic, guiding, and coherent framework, providing stakeholders in the social economy with a clear and shared vision to effectively contribute to regional development. It defines the major actions to be undertaken and emphasizes the identification and implementation of income-generating activities. The PDRES thus provides the region with a structured roadmap, uniting initiatives to promote the social economy and contributing to the fight against poverty and social exclusion over the next five years.
The study was based on a thorough diagnostic of the region’s resources and potential, allowing the formulation of a regional plan aligned with existing sectoral strategies and the principles of the National Human Development Initiative (INDH).
Conducted using a participatory approach, it involved all local stakeholders concerned with social economy issues. RESING carried out a detailed analysis of relevant documentation and sectoral strategies and organized focus groups bringing together actors from various sectors, enriching and validating the strategic orientations of the plan.
